For almost 2 years I worked under a reproductive equine vet who specializes in hunter/jumpers. In those 2 years, I’ve treated and spotted a ton of injuries, prepared and gave medication to over 40 horses at a time, I can give IM, IV, and skin injections, walked multiple horses with big personalities, assisted in x-rays-ultrasounds-different reproductive procedures-treating very yucky wounds-as well as helping broodmares have their babies and the process after that! I’ve handle all different ages of horses form newborns to seniors. Handling the stallions from turn out to turn in, walking past mares, watching them being collected, even being their groom at shows and walking them to where they need to be. Talking to clients when the doc wasn’t available or was on a call, taking instructions from her and asking questions to make sure everything was the way she wanted, even giving out suggestions of something that could work better.

I have been around horses and farm work since I was little. I’ve always been very passionate about the work. Cleaning stalls, remembering feed and supplements for 40 horses, turn in and out, haying, yeah the basics. I’ve work at public barns, private barns, and in between. I’ve worked with a mix of horses, then at an Arabian and Quarter Horse barn, and a massive H/J facility
