Equine Work Experience
From 2012-2013, I worked in the summers at a riding stable. The job duties grooming, managing feeding schedules, tacking the horses, and overall maintenance of the facilities. I was trained to drive a team of halflings during the summer of 2013. From 2018-2019, I worked at a private barn with 14 horses on the premises of multiple disciplines and breeds. My main duties included organizing the feeding schedules, carrying the feeding process out, grooming, adjusting new horses to the environment, and managing the barn facilities.
Specialities
I have over ten years of experience working with horses. This includes but is not limited to grooming, raising colts/foals, training, conditioning, general barn maintenance, and local competitions. I have worked at a riding stable and a private barn. My experience is mostly with Quarter horses but I have also worked with Belgium, Warm Bloods, Halflingers, and Friesians. My strong suit is cleanliness and I pride myself on being very neat.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden many stages of horses. I began on difficult ponies and moved to more complacent seasoned horses in my teens. Since then I have broken several horses and worked on adjusting green horses to new environments. This includes trail riding and ring work. I have also worked with young colts and foals to adjust them to leading, shoeing, rivers, and trailers.
Competition Details
I have completed my entire life in western events including barrel racing and pole events. In University, I competed in and studied western pleasure. For my competitions from the ages of 13-17, I have qualified for Nationals each year and ended each year within the top 1st Division. In University, I averaged a placing of 3rd in my first year.
