Currently catch riding a lovely 18.2hh draft cross to help bring him back into work. I am nearly one year in recovery from a nasty episode of vestibular migraine, which left me bedbound for nearly three months and wrecked my balance and confidence. I’m now in remission and ready to work! 2016-2017 Assistant Instructor, Back to Basics Horsemanship 2015-2016 Catch Rider, Griffinwood Stables 2008-2009 Working Student, Chastain Mist Equestrian 2007-2008 Working Student, Standing Ovation Stables LLC 2006-2007 Working Student, Chastain Mist Equestrian 2006 Working Student, Canyon Meadows Farm
I’ve: ridden huntseat, equitation, dressage, endurance, western, on trails, worked with OTTBs, stallions, foals, Arabians, Morgan’s, saddlebreds, warmbloods, taught beginner lessons, intermediate lessons, groomed, foal watch, rehabbed, medication, owned horses, barn sat, boarded at co-op barns, boarded at show barns, boarded at self-care barns, kept my horse at home.
-Working with youth, teaching lessons (esp group lessons, confidence building, individual lessons, show prep, goal setting) -Restarting OTTBs, out of shape horses, and project horses -Huntseat, equitation, jumpers, and dressage theory and riding (a bit rusty but there) -Biomechanics and movement
I’ve basically explained this so I’ll use this section to explain that my horse is on care lease and accommodations for her are not necessarily needed right now but I am looking for a position that will allow me to bring my dog, who is an emotional support dog. I know a lot of people are abusing that system but mine is legitimate. He’s young but I’m very attentive to his behavior and he is held to strict standards. He’s no trouble though- he’s a happy, sweet, laid back guy.
I haven’t had an opportunity to compete but I would love to experience this world!
