Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.

A bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in Equine and Companion Animal Science. PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor I am first aid certified.
I am looking for a job managing an equine farm, teaching lessons or managing a breeding program. I have a bachelor's degree in Equine Science, and I am PATH Certified riding instructor.
I have been working at horse barns for over 8 years. I started at a small farm (6 horses) in Massachusetts working with rescues and geriatric horses. While in college I worked at various boarding facilities talking care of 40+ horses at a time. After college I became the groom hand at a barn in NC working with 20+ geriatric horses. I then decided to pursue my therapeutic riding certification and taught lessons at a PATH Premier facility.
I have been riding for 10 years, mainly focusing on dressage and incorporating some hunt seat. I have also worked with individual owners to help train horses in various disciplines.
While at VA Tech I also participated in research, helping graduate students conduct their research in equine positive reinforcement training. I took classes specialized in production, management, husbandry, and training.
While at Virginia Tech I learned about bandaging, administering medications, daily care, equine nutrition, equine first aid, disease prevention and treatment, training yearlings, grooming, and equine conformation. My years working around horses at farms has let me apply these principles hands on.
Since graduating college, I worked at a therapeutic riding facility as a volunteer coordinator and riding instructor and earned my PATH CTRI certification.
I primarily train in dressage. I have recently started jumping. I have been riding for 10 years taking lessons and leasing horses. While at VA Tech I took an equine behavior and training class, where we trained yearlings, including basic ground manners, lunging, and getting them saddle broke.
