Experience in Western riding, English riding, and teaching lessons
I have owned and been around horses my entire life. My family had our horses on our own property so we would take care of the feeding, cleaning, and medication of our horses, goats, and cows. Because of this, I am very comfortable around animals.
Before moving to Texas, I was teaching beginner riding lessons at an Eventing barn. I taught a girl-scout troop the basics of riding and horse care over a 5 week period and then started teaching lessons to beginner riders. We worked on grooming, tacking, and basic riding skills (walk, trot, canter, poles) in order to prepare the kids for shows and jumping once they had better motor skills.
Western Trail Riding English Hunter Jumper Show Jumping Beginning Dressage Beginning Cross Country Teaching - Beginner Level (grooming, tacking, cleaning, basic riding skills)
I started out riding Western when I was in the 3rd grade and then switched to English in the 7th grade. I started in Hunter Jumping, competing in the summers. I took a break during college and resumed riding once done with school. I then took lessons at an Eventing barn and started learning Dressage and Cross Country. I decided to focus on the technicality instead of trying to jump higher, so I currently jump 2'3" and 2'6", but am ready to work on the height in addition to more technical work.
I competed in the low-level competitions as I was just starting out. I have not competed since, but am looking to get back into it now that I have more of a grasp on the technicality.
