Involved managing a stable of 35+ dressage horses alongside two FEI trainers. Coordinated feed instructions, general care (emergency veterinary care included), turnout, laundry, wrapping and blanketing.
I have 10+ years working with horses. My family has been involved in the equine industry since I was young, and I began working in a professional equine environment two years ago. I became manager of a large dressage facility in Texas two years ago following several years as assistant manager. In this role my duties included:
Organizing barn opening and closing activities. Ensuring all barn and program equipment is up to date and in good condition such as equipment used during lessons, automatic waterers, fences, gates, first aid kits, etc. Coordinating and attending appointments with veterinarian, farrier, body worker, and other horse professionals. Completed paperwork and ensured horses had up-to-date vaccinations for horse shows or other competitions, as was needed. Managing any horse health emergencies that arise (have experience in wound care, wrapping, and administering IM shots). Supervised team of 4-5 barn employees. Ordered supplies, including horse feed & hay.
Specialties include: Experience leading a team Turnout to a high standard Limited experience working with broodmares, foals, and stallions Excellent at keeping a tidy yard Feed management Blanket management Supervision of safe equine handling
Dressage rider, however has previous experience in showjumping.
Currently working on achieving my USDF bronze medal in Wellington, Florida.
