Equine Work Experience
I have never worked in a professional equine environment, but I do have experience with handling large mammals. I’ve taken care of my family’s livestock (cows & horses) for practically my whole life and am currently halter training a bull calf multiple times my size. I’m not afraid of them, in fact I prefer large animals, but I’m not stupid or reckless either and never risk the health of the animal. I’m not afraid to ask questions.
I have only owned and worked with geldings and have never been to a barn or stalled my horses, but I am 110% committed to learning and will do my best to help out regardless.
Type of Ride Work
Although I’ve owned horses my whole life and am familiar with their habits and behaviors, as well as how to behave around them regardless of their level of training and desensitization, I don’t have much practical riding experience or experience dealing with green horses, young horses, or any specific sport within English disciplines. I have recently learned to lunge my horses and am learning along with them. Again, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to build my skills or help however I can.
