Bio
I’m a 16 year old girl with a love for horses. I hope to gain experience whenever I can due to financial limitations. I love working with horses—especially young, developing ones. I’m very persistent and hardworking, I love to learn and have fun :)

Equine Work Experience

I have experience in flatwork, grid work, and show jumping, with earlier experience in the hunter ring. I’m also experienced with feeding, grooming, turning out horses, pulling manes, cutting tails, and plaiting. I started riding at 4 years old at a western summer camp and began English lessons at 8. Growing up, I competed in pony hunters from cross-rails to 2’6. After taking about a year and a half off, I returned to riding at an eventing/show jumping barn where I leased multiple OTTBs. I gained hands-on experience with lunging, flatwork, feeding, grooming, and basic medical care. I competed a few times but mostly schooled courses from 2’9 to 3’6. I’ve also schooled plenty of different horses for the barn owner and have experience with intermediate dressage/shoulders in, etc. Most of my work has been with young, developing horses. Due to financial limitations I’ve mainly worked as a groom on the A circuit, but I would love opportunities to catch ride or compete!

Specialities

I have worked with young, developing OTTBS.

Type of Ride Work

I’ve ridden mostly young developing Warmbloods and OTTBs. My experience includes all types of flatwork, gridwork, and jumping courses up to 3’6-4, along with 2’6 pony hunters earlier in my riding. I’m comfortable hacking, galloping on varied terrain, and riding bareback. I value correct training and soft contact, focusing on horses working into the bridle rather than force. I enjoy both jumper rides and the relaxed, flowing style of hunters.

Competition Details

I have competed in the pony hunters and low jumpers at B-rated shows. I’ve accompanied my barn to A-rated shows, but I never had the funds to support my own. I’ve competed on multiple catch rides and other people’s horses and have plaited show horses before. I have also done equitation classes up to 3 ft.
