Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to go to a university to study any equine programs.
Equine Work Experience
I have been riding horses for 7 years now, with a slight pause in the middle due to an unfortunate back injury.
I volunteered at a horse rescue and worked with a large demographic of horses for three years.
For the past few months I have been working full-time at an equine facility, and I picked up a great many things from that experience, such as working with a blind horse, over seeing the health and well being of a herd that consisted of 30 very different horses, learning how to pick up on very subtle yet important cues in a horse's body language, and how to properly maintain and manage an equine facility.
I am excellent at creating lists and keeping organized.
I make it a point to always put the horses first, as they all deserve as much as we can give them.
I have personally handled many foals in the past, and I find them absolutely brilliant to work with.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden all sorts of horses, from green to previously abused all the way to retired. All were wonderful experiences and have allowed me to grow further in my knowledge of how to handle certain circumstances or behaviors.
I have worked in hunter jumpers and flatwork for the majority of my riding career, with hopes of expanding to dressage and cross-country.
Growing up I rode and competed in IEA, but I have not had any other opportunities of the competitive nature.
