Equine Work Experience
While my specialty described above does not reference horses that is far from my equine background. During my professional career I have maintained ownership of two horses, in addition to being an active member/secretary for our local foxhunting club, and being sole charge for a local facility for months at a time. I have been riding for over 25 years and started with a foundation in dressage where I showed to second level (schooling third level). I have spanned from dressage into the hunter/jumper realm and over the past ten years spent much of my time as an avid foxhunter. However, I believe in a well rounded education and consistently keep myself growing in dressage and over fence lessons (cross country predominately). I also have a background in riding aside, driving, and natural horsemanship. I currently own a belgian thoroughbred cross who is easing into retirement and a four year old thoroughbred mare who I aim to show aside in the future.
Specialities
I am currently working in sales as I have for the past five years. Throughout that time I have gained experience in team management and streamlining a business. I am able to prioritize and multitask in a manner that ensures success and maximum productivity. While this is not linked directly to horses I feel it allows me to know the ins and outs of running a successful business and providing my employers a well rounded individual which I feel makes me unique.
Type of Ride Work
In addition to above, I have a wide background in barn management and have been sole charge of a 40 horse facility. I am well versed in medical care from colic to abscesses I can do just about anything. I am able to work large equipment including tractors, mowers, trailer/trucks (I currently work for family trailer business). I have experience managing feed/diet needs, vet and farrier rotation, preventative maintenance, stalls, blanketing, body clipping, and show turnout.
Competition Details
I have previously competed up to second level in dressage while working for a Grand Prix rider. I have also attended local shows for hunter jumper and shown beginner novice in eventing. I have also competed in aside classes on the flat and over fences.
