Qualifications

I continue to seek opportunities to grow and learn in this field. I recently enrolled in University of Georgia’s Horse Owner’s Webinar Series addressing the basics of horse nutrition, and will be participating in Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center’s “Tuesday Talks” program, addressing various equine nutrition and management topics. I also recently completed a horsemanship class through Equi Evolution in Cumberland, RI.

Duties of Current Occupation

I currently work as a full time social worker in a residential program for individuals ages 12-21 with varying needs. I am responsible for individual, family, and group therapy as well as case management and behavior support.

Equine Work Experience

I have been fortunate enough to be able to work with equines. Starting in 2020 I provided instruction and a therapeutic setting for riders of varying ages and abilities at Faith Hill Farm in East Greenwich, RI. I directed and managed Faith Hill Farm’s Summer Camp 2020 program, providing supervision and scheduling for staff as well as support and instruction for riders. Previously, I represented Faith Hill Farm while I rode competitively for the University of Rhode Island in IHSA equitation classes from 2012-2016. I have been volunteering at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Inc. since 2021 in a variety of capacities, including leading horses during instructional classes, barn management including feeding, stall keep, tack cleaning, amongst other barn management needs. I’m also striving towards achieving my CTRI or certified therapeutic riding instructor certification through their PATH accredited program.
