I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
I started my equestrian journey in my youth with a non-profit organization in Philadelphia called "Work to Ride." There, I'd spend most of my days either cleaning stalls, exercising polo ponies, helping with lessons, learning what I could about the equine industry, or just spending casual time with the horses. When I aged out of the program, I continued to find places to volunteer and ride when I could, to keep my skills and knowledge sharp. Most recently, I've been volunteering at mostly western discipline, family owned barn. While I wouldn't consider western my main discipline, (that would probably go more to hunter/jumper) I've certainly grown to appreciate it.
English plesure, polo, flat work
