I volunteered and took lessons at Ro-No Ranch in PA for 5+ years. Daily tasks for work included turn out, lunging, mucking stalls, grooming, feeding, water buckets, blanketing, cleaning tack and more.
The farm also had one cow, several mules, 2 miniature horses and a few chickens I helped care for.
Experience with gaited horses (specifically paso finos)
Lots of customer service experience-- I'm a people person as well as a horse one!
Experience handling foals and stallions
Working at Ro-No, I was able to able to ride a wide variety of horses. Ro-No breeds paso fino horses, so I have a lot of experience in gaited horses as well. I also rode some problem horses brought to be saddle-broken late, as they were trained. Assisting my instructor, I got some hands-on experience both English and Western riding schools.
In my private riding lessons, I focused mainly on English dressage. I worked up to jumping in my lessons.
I competed in two online NAWD competitions in 2016, when I was 16. In the first competition I was mistakenly placed into the adult category, and still placed third. In my second competition, I placed first.
