Duties of Current Occupation
Previously a working student for 5 years duties included:
- Daily care (feeding, watering, turnout, cleaning etc)
- barn care (muckout, cleaning troughs, etc)
- assisting with childrens lessons ages 4+
- exercise/training with our working horses
Equine Work Experience
I have personally been working with horses for 11 years and held my working student position for 5 years. I had full leases for most of my time riding, but also got a lot of experience with different horses as my working student position allowed me to not only exercise other lesson horses but also participate in the training of some green horses as well. I have participated in breed shows for years, as well as trail rides and 4H. Other than riding, I have had many opportunities to be around foals, as well as watching farrier, veterinary, and physical therapy work.
