Qualifications

I have done years of research on the management of horses. I have learned that veterinarians do not spend much time on nutrition or shoeing in vet school. So I have taken it upon myself to learn as much as I can about both of these subjects. Managing a horse on the road is the biggest learning experience a person can get. I did work for Purina Mills and went to their research farm in St Louis MO on multiple occasions and had access to several fellow employees with PhD's in equine nutrition.

Equine Work Experience

I have raised, trained and competed at a professional level for years. My sole occupation for 16 years was at the professional level. My first job as a teenager was guiding dude ranch guests on trail rides. I took lessons in dressage as a teenager and worked with a professional reining horse trainer on the weekends while attending college. I was a half owner in a registered Angus ranch for 14 and have extensive experience working cattle on horses

Specialities

I have worked with broodmares, foals and stallions. I have managed high performance horses at home and on the road.
I am extremely particular about the care and management of horses (for example, every time a water trough has to be refilled, I scrub it out first)

Type of Ride Work

I have started several young horses from halter breaking to the first ride after hours of roundpen work and driving. I have taken several green horses through the seasoning process to make them solid competitors. In more recent years, I have ridden strictly western horses.

Competition Details

I have finished six different years in the top 25 of the Womens Professional Rodeo Association on horses I trained myself. I traveled alone and managed my own horses in every way and made a good living doing so.
