Duties of Current Occupation
Help foaling mares, follow farm protocol, observe all horses for injury, overall health, and signs of labor. Clean laboratory area, stocks, and barn area. Restock as needed. Administer Overnight medications. Get morning meds ready.
Equine Work Experience
Was a groom, and also Obtained my Assistant trainer license at the racetrack. Traveled to multiple tracks over the course of 7 years. I then worked at Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, OK for approximately 2.5 years where I managed a barn and also foaled mares. That is where I had interns that I was able to teach and work alongside.
Specialities
Foaled 500+ mares, sales prepped 300+ yearlings, brought mares through stocks, been around stallions, have led wet mares, have experience with horses on and off track. Have managed a barn of 40 horses (mostly yearlings) and a team of 6-10 employees. Efficient at cleaning stalls. Very comfortable with IV and IM and oral administration.
Type of Ride Work
Have ridden young horses, and barrel races in college. I ponied green, young horses on/off the track. Have helped break babies for the track. Also have sales prep experience with yearlings.
