My degree in psychology has helped me have a deeper understanding of what it takes to work with both horses and people. In addition, my vast animal training experience in a zoological setting has allowed me to apply positive reinforcement to training horses.

I worked as an assistant barn manager at an eventing barn for nearly four years. I was involved in every aspect of horse care. Feeding, cleaning stalls, turn-out, holding for vet and farrier appointments, grooming for shows, lunging horses, riding horses, cleaning tack, setting up jump courses, dragging arenas, painting jump poles, building cross country fences, and rehabbing injured horses.

I have experience with young horses off the track, and have worked with retired standardbred broodmares. I evented a lease horse through training level, and I got my current horse with less than ten rides off the track. She is currently schooling first level dressage and up to 3' jumping. I have experience with rehabbing injured horses: starting with walk sets, light trot sets, all the way working back to jumping. I do a lot of R+ clicker training, and Patrick King in-hand work.
