I plan on enrolling online in an equine studies program while I work and learn.
Duties of Current Occupation
Currently I am employed at a small farm in Ohio. I am responsible for feedings, turn outs, schooling rides, and general care.
Equine Work Experience
I have been around horses since I was five years old. I started taking lessons at a reputable show barn in Willoughby Ohio, unfortunately I did not have the funds to show often, so I ended up helping out and working in the shows from an early age. This gave me a lot of experience learning the ins and outs of the show experience. I continued to advance and move up and eventually purchased my first horse off the track, which added to my love of the green and young horses. I have been working at a private farm for almost a year now learning more about equine diet and care and all around farm work.
Specialities
I am very comfortable working with the greenies and am interested in advancing the skills in training that I’ve began to grow. Working with strong or ‘hot’ horses is also something I feel comfortable with doing.
Type of Ride Work
I have experience riding everything from small ponies with bucking issues (I still can fit I’m only 5’) to 17hh green ottbs. I am very confident over jumps and working with stronger horses. I have experience starting horses off the track and would love to learn more about starting the babies. I currently show in the jumpers and have dabbled in the hunters a bit, but am ready and willing to learn whatever discipline.
Competition Details
I have been attending horse shows my entire life helping my barn and team and sometimes competing. I would love to get more into the show ring myself as well as helping facilitate the team.
