Equine Working Student(3 Months): Frequently carry 50+ lbs, in an outdoor setting, for 12 hour shifts, to carry out necessary farm tasks Led a morning trail ride every day, organizing groups of 5-8 volunteers to correctly groom, tack, and ride Led novice and child riders through riding lessons, teaching horsemanship and riding techniques, as well as general safety Lessoned in riding and lunging Organized groups of volunteers for morning and evening feeding routines and activities

Therapy Barn Farmhand(7 Months): Operated farm equipment, including a 4x4 and a pickup truck, to carry out farm maintenance duties on a therapy farm Kept track of livestock health and property condition, and reported directly to the farm owner

Equine Volunteer(Work to Ride)(1 Yr): Maintained a role as leading volunteer, teaching newer volunteers Morning/evening feed and horse care shifts, in exchange for lessons Lessoned or trail rode 2-3 times a week, with gaited and and trotter horses

I've ridden dead-broke to young, spunky horses, with my experience mostly middling at well-handled horses with small behavioral problems. I mostly worked at a client lesson barn, so most of the horses were ridden by a lot of people, but my real enjoyment came when I worked with horses that needed a little work. My favorite horse to work with was a spooker, and I tend to work well with spooky horses. I don't want to oversell my abilities--I am definitely a green rider, but I learn fast!

I have never competed or worked in a competition environment.
