I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I have over 25 years of riding experience and over 15 years of training experience. I started training horses and teaching lessons at the age of 16 when I graduated from high school early to pursue my horse career. I have managed many barns over the years with many types of disciplines and breeds. I feel comfortable in almost all tasks around a stable on a daily basis. I do not mind doing daily chores because it teaches the horses that you are in charge of every day.
I have been involved in many different equine operations and I have learned many different aspects of the equine industry. Currently I am not working in the equine industry but have my own as to not lose touch with the daily care of the animals.
Started riding at 5 y/o, started teaching at 15, have been training my own horses since my sisters would let me get on the young stock, which was forever ago. I have trained and worked under so many trainers and feel that I have always taken alot away from all of them but I can always learn more.
I grew up on the hunter/jumper circuit and have been teaching and training for about 25 years. I like working with young and up and coming horse and riders. I have worked on many farms, I do not mind hard work, I actually enjoy it or else I do not sleep well. I have also worked on thoroughbred farms, which gave me experience in foaling, pin-hooking, and various other aspects of the thoroughbred industry.
I grew up on the hunter/jumper circuit but have also trained Western pleasure and English quarter horses for their circuit. I feel that I was fortunate to learn riding with a solid and proper foundation and that is what I teach. I tend to move slow with kids trying to teach them safety first.
I have showed for so long but I do not really think that where or when I showed matters as much as the experience that you get from taking care of your horses while on the show circuits. I have showed all levels of the hunters, jumpers, equitation classes along with many years on the open and quarter horse circuit. I have also fitted halter horses. My show experience then help me prep youngsters for the sale ring when I started working for thoroughbred farms.
