Facilities, property, and equipment maintenance support on a 25-acre premier hunter jumper equestrian club. Kilgraston School’s Equestrian Centre is looking for an Equestrian Manager to join the team to cover Maternity Leave. Kilgraston is the only school in Scotland with equestrian facilities onsite. The Riding Centre comprises of 14 stables, a tack room, a 40m x 60m all-weather floodlit arena, hacking track and a series of well fenced paddocks. This is a full-time position for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to take responsibility for the organisation and management of our centre.
We have had a working student internship program for 2 decades. Many of our graduates have gone on to accomplish great things in the horse industry. If you are successful, you will leave with a fantastic reference and letter of recommendation in addition to gaining an invaluable amount of experience. What will you gain? Exactly what you put in. We love to work with students who can use this internship for college credit too, but that is not mandatory.
We are seeking a reliable person to act as stable and maintenance hand on large horse farm with breeding component near Frederick, MD. Job duties include: general daily horse care: turning in/out, feeding, stalls, some grooming, assisting in keeping stables tidy. Must be proficient in safe operating and basic maintenance of various large tractors. Housing is on-site. Must be a self-starter, an independent worker, have strong organization skills, and be comfortable working with horses.
Must attend monthly weekend training (once per month). May also sometimes need to attend special courses or training, typically not more than 2 weeks at a time
I have ridden and shown hunter seat and lower level dressage for 20 years. Qualified for the AQHA World Show in Hunter Hack. Rode on the IHSA Western team for my college and was a regional qualifier. My degree is a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Management with a specialization in Equine Business Management from Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, NY. I also have experience riding reining horses and was the official scribe for the Central New York Reining Horse Association for several years.
Most recently, I have come back to my roots and have seriously turned my focus to dressage. I lived in Germany from 2019 - 2020 and rode at riding school that specialized in Baroque classical dressage. I am also a current member and volunteer with the Central New York Dressage and Combined Training Association.
Mainly hunter seat and dressage but also have experience with western horsemanship, reining, and working cows.
