Took English lessons during middle and high school, stopped riding but began groundwork training with horses. Began volunteering at a therapeutic equestrian facility until college, continued to volunteer and serve on the board of directors at a different therapeutic horsemanship program, joined the Syracuse western equestrian team and was appointed captain.
