Equine Work Experience
I have not worked for a professional equestrian environment, but I did grow up on a ranch. Put riding style was western, but I do know a few basics in dressage.
Specialities
I grew up working with horses and I team roped competitively throughout my high school years. I have a horse of my own, who I trained to be a head horse. I’m not afraid of a little dirt, and I love being around the animals. I took a break from my horses to continue my education, but I felt it would be healthy for me to get back in touch with my roots.
Type of Ride Work
I’ve ridden quarter horses throughout most of my experience with horses. I have helped break a few green horses and I’ve ridden my fair share of young horses. Most of the work I did with our horses was flat work in the arena, hazing, team roping, and bit of goat tying. All of my horses were trained for hunting as well. I have a little bit of experience in starting a horse. For the most part I was the test dummy for the green horses, but I would help finish them.
Competition Details
I have competed in rodeos and some team roping tournaments. I was in the NHRA (national high school rodeo association) in my junior and senior year of college.
