The only formal training I have is volunteer work with therapy programs. Other than that all of my knowledge comes from work experience.

Equine Work Experience
I grew up riding horses English and western, I volunteered at Centenary’s Therapeutic riding program, I spent last summer, fall, and winter working as a farm hand/trail guide but it’s too far for me to continue working there. And I really would like to work in an equine field when I get out of school and am looking to get as much experience as I can.
I’m very organized and tend to pay close attention to detail. I’m a very hard worker and will often complete tasks before I am asked to. I’m very responsible and hate being late. I am a quick and eager learner and if there’s a task I don’t know how to do I’m not afraid to ask for help. I know maintenance skills were put as a bonus. I can drive a tractor and while I never used a lawn mower or weedwacker I’m sure I could learn.
Type of Ride Work
Walk, trot, canter
English- basic flatwork and jumping
Western- trail and some barrels
At my last job I was the only employee besides the boss that they felt comfortable putting on the new horses. And was often put in charge of deciding weather the horse was suitable for trail rides and what kind of experience was needed to ride the horse.
I’ve never competed nor worked as a groom
