Position available in January 2021 to join a friendly, professional team in Kildare! 🦄 🇮🇪
I hold my own trainer's insurance as well as professional USEF status. I own and drive my own truck and trailer, and can administer equine first aid and medical maintenance. I also completed equine business management college classes.
Training horses and riders in the disciplines of hunter, jumper, western and trail. Working with everything from beginners and elderly horses to breaking in young or green ponies and horses and advanced competitors,
I have been riding for 14 years, and teaching for 2 years. In that short time I quickly became head trainer and have since worked consistently with over 40 riders a week, from 6 year olds to 65 year olds. I have trained a rider who had never seen a horse and made her a champion jumper in under 6 months. But I also understand my riders who take more time. I am also currently training a 2 year old warmblood (not under saddle) and just finished a welsh-thoroughbred cross that I purchased at the start of summer 2020. The most important part of my experience is that I enjoy my job. To me, it is not work, and I would do it for free if I could. I love watching my riders grow and seeing what they accomplish, or seeing a horse transform from unridable to lesson pony.
I specialize in show jumping specifically, although I do also train hunters as well. I have the most experience working with green horses and ponies, as well as starting beginner riders. I have a great talent for taking in transfers from other barns and quickly solving problems they've been trying to fix for years. I have worked with a lot of "problem" horses of all shapes and sizes.
I personally prefer the jumper ring, but I also ride hunters and western. I've done barrels, mounted games, cross-country, and dabbled in dressage. I am a safe rider but I am not fearful. I will get on a horse that is acting up, or I can take your performance horse to the next level. I can break a 3 year old or exercise a geriatric. I have had a lot of experience lately in whipping lesson horses into shape when they've learned a bad habit or are acting up.
I have competed all along the east coast since I was 7 years old. Most of my experience has been introducing green horses into the show world, and taking them up to Rated A shows before handing them off to a client or buyer. I generally show the horses up to 1.0 meter before selling them, but am comfortable doing 1.20 meters or more on the right horse.
