I’ve done everything from breaking untouched 10 year old horses for pleasure to training winners of state medal finals and ribbon winners at USEF pony finals and Indoors. A mature and reliable individual with transferrable skills and a varied work experience, seeks a temp role to complete Ride Safe & general riding. Opportunity to ride out/develop in-hand work welomed. Home counties preferred.
Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.
I have not taken any equine related college courses. I have worked for a couple stock breed trainers throughout the years and have learned a lot through them. Whether it is staying home on the farm or traveling to be a show groom, I have been lucky enough to be around some great horsemen and women who have taught me valuable skills.
Traveling to horse shows to clean stalls, and grooming/show prepping horses.
I'm fortunate enough to have my Mother be a fellow equestrian. I was raised in the dressage community, and I actively worked for my Mom and her trainer by cleaning stalls and braiding manes. When I turned fourteen I decided I wanted to do something on my own and switched over to the stock breed world. This lead me to work for a couple stock breed trainers local to me throughout the years to pay for my expenses. I worked for a farm off and on from 2014 until 2022. This farm offered me amazing opportunities and learning experiences. Along with that farm, I have groomed for multiple other trainers throughout the years. As of 2023, I started my own small business which offers stall cleaning and grooming services at horse shows near me.
I officially began working at a horse farm when I was 14 years old. I have mucked stalls, taught lessons (therapeutic included), wrangled foals, braided manes, managed staff on weekends - you name it, I have probably done it. I primarily work in the stock horse world, but I'm always happy to broaden my knowledge. As of today, I currently own a small business where I travel and offer stall cleaning and grooming services at AQHA and APHA horse shows.
I have ridden mostly finished stock seat horses from western pleasure to ranch riding. I do not mind doing exercise rides/lesson horse tune up rides, but I am no where near the level of a trainer. I am stronger in a managerial and/or instructor position than a riding position.
I have worked at AQHA and APHA shows, primarily as a private groom or under my business. I have also shown at local APHA and AQHA shows, along with local clubs. I have not worked in a show office, other than a local show I volunteer at. I would love to learn more about the 'behind the scenes' of a horse show.
