During my time at RMC, I learned the basics of horsemanship from the ground up. My first year I learned how to control cadence, propulsion, and lateral work. I also learned how to use ground poles and how to do flying lead changes.
My second year of college, I focused on hunt-seat equitation. During this time, I learned the essentials of English riding on the flat and over jumps. While I never gained much course experience, I did go over several jumps, and learned how to jump an gymnastic line.
My third and fourth years of college focused on starting a colt and teaching them everything from the ground up. Because of the area I currently live in, all this training was in Western riding. I trained several different horses during this time. Many of which were considered "problem" horses. My capstone horse was sold as a Western Pleasure show horse.
I have specialized in Western riding, specifically all-around and Western Pleasure, but would like to begin focus on English riding such as Dressage and Hunter/Jumper.
Colt training Groundwork Western riding English riding on the flat, over some jumps Lateral Work (shoulders in/out, haunches in/out, leg-yield, half pass, etc.) Flying and Simple Lead changes
