Duties of Current Occupation
I am graduating from Washington University in St. Louis this May, riding in IHSA, qualified for Zones 2022, qualified for Junior Hunter Finals 2019.
Equine Work Experience
In middle school I worked at horse shows to pay off horse show fees with riding with Kraus Farms. I know how to take care of tack, administer oral medication to horses, wrap legs, provide horse show care, and more. I have been a working student at Baskin Farms for almost 6 months.
Specialities
I possess extensive Hunter/Jumper and Equitation show and riding experience, owned 2 horses (sold my horse when I went off to college), and know how to care for horses, stall, tack, etc. I have helped young children learn how to ride and act around the barn and horses, and have an extremely high standard of horse and barn care. I served on the executive committee as outreach president for the Washington University Equestrian Team for my junior and senior years.
Type of Ride Work
I have ridden everything from western lesson horses to quarter horses, thoroughbreds and warmbloods. My first horse, a warmblood mare, was prone to refusing jumps. My second horse, a 6-year-old warmblood who had only done jumpers, was very green and took a lot of under-saddle work. He was honest, but took years of training to become a successful under-saddle hunter. I trained with hunter, jumper, eq and dressage trainers, and have tried eventing for fun.
Competition Details
I traveled nationally, competing in the A circuit in high school, and qualifying for Junior Hunter Finals in Devon, PA, in 2019. I rode for Washington University's IHSA team my sophomore through senior year, even during COVID. I showed in intermediate flat/fences and helped the team win regionals 2022 and qualify for zones. I won reserve high-point rider at a show and was a flat and fences regional qualifier my senior year.
