I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. I have completed courses as follows: Introduction to the Horse Industry, Equestrian First Year Seminar, Theory of Performance Horse Health and Management Practicums I and II, Fundamentals of Equestrian Teaching and Learning, Applied Riding in Fundamentals and Intermediate Hunter/Jumper. Spring of 2022 I am expecting to also add Horse Management Practicum I and Equestrian Communication to completed college courses.
I have 13 years of applied riding experience, and am currently enrolled in William Woods University working towards a Bachelor's in Equestrian Sciences, majoring in Hunter/Jumper. I am proficient in Hunter US and OF, Western trail riding and Western Pleasure. Work experience as a stable hand in 2 lesson/training businesses and have independently taught lessons on the ground and under saddle to groups of beginner and intermediate kids aged 6-15 in a summer camp. Cleaning tack, aisles and other spaces and items in a barn setting is something I do often, thoroughly and efficiently. I am creative and analytical when solving problems both under saddle and on the flat, working with people and horses alike.
I have worked with OTTBs who have been off the track for a few years. I've trained horses to go over single fences and courses both.
