A mature and reliable individual with transferrable skills and a varied work experience, seeks a temp role to complete Ride Safe & general riding. Opportunity to ride out/develop in-hand work welomed. Home counties preferred.
Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.
I hold a bachelor of science in Elementary Education and a bachelor of Science in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have not completed equine courses, but have always been involved with horses throughout my life. This has allowed me to work as a riding instructor throughout my time becoming a teacher.
I am an elementary school teacher relocating from Minnesota to New Jersey. I have been teaching riding camps and lessons for a few years. I currently also teach second and third grade students who are multilingual learners.
I started riding horses when I was 6 years old, and I competitively rode Dressage. I rode lesson horses, leased horses, and owned a horse. I now continue to receive Dressage and hunter/jumper lessons from two trainers weekly to continue developing my skills. I competed in local schooling shows, state shows, and national competitions. I competed up to FEI level Prix St-Georges. I earned reserve champion in a National Competition for fourth level in 2011, and placed in the top ten for third level. In total, I have been involved with horses for 16 years as a rider, teacher, and continuous learner. During this time I would groom and tack up my horses, and take care of the tack and equipment. I worked horse day camps, and later worked two full summers teaching western and english horseback riding lessons. Additionally, over the past year I have been teaching leveled riding lessons and camps for a riding school. I taught full time over the summer, and 1-2 days during the school year.
I often work with lessons horses when I teach students, but when I ride I usually ride “hot” horses, some problem and green horses. I also ride my various horses my trainers’ own in order to further develop my upper level dressage skills and hunter/jumper. These horses all vary in breeds and sizes from large ponies to 17hh.
I personally competed in local schooling shows, county/ state shows, and went to nationals. I would also bring my horse to the state fair to ride in the MN Colosseum. I would fully prepare my own horse for shows including bathing, braiding, cleaning tack, racking up, and warming up. We would also bring our horses to some western dressage events. I have only competed in dressage as I have just began learning hunter/ jumper when teaching at a barn who specializes in it.
