I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.

For the summers of 2017 and 2018, I was a summer camp counselor at Rushlow's Arabian Horse Farm. I was responsible for the care of the camp horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, tacking up, and healthcare needs. I was responsible for the care of the barn and facility including stalls, and keeping the feed room, restroom, lounge room, and the barn neat and organized. As a camp counselor, I assisted with riding lessons to groups of campers safely and in a fun way. I also assisted in camp-wide activities as needed, and any other duties assigned to me. I took care to collaborate with my team members to ensure everything was completed, and that we were all working together.
I began taking riding lessons when I was 6 years old, riding arabian hunt seat, including limited jumping and western pleasure experience. Between the ages of 6 and 15, I participated in multiple summer camps as a student, and was able to participate in some leadership tasks as I became more experienced. Within each summer camp, we were taught how to quickly muck out stalls, groom the horses, and how to appropriately keep the facility clean.
Throughout my 10 years of weekly riding lessons, multiple summer camps, and being able to lease a horse for one summer, I have had the privilege of working with many different horses. Most were experienced with riders, but there were times where I was placed with horses who were just coming back to work, were younger, or were temperamental. I mostly rode flat work, but was able to experience some jumping.
I was able to compete in a competition as MSU in 2010, where I took 2nd place for my performance, and my horse took 5th place.
