I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.

Horses health is my main priority. I am looking for long time solution. I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I am an extrovert and a natural leader, and form quick bonds both with animals and people. When I took professional riding lessons at age 11, the horse I immediately bonded with was one the riding instructor said they never used for lessons, as he had a habit of biting, kicking and bucking. He never once demonstrated these behaviors towards me. I remain calm and level headed in all situations. I also have experience helping to build the barn & fencing for my own horse, as my dad was a builder.
I was previously the Lead ER RN FT nights, and Lead Dialysis RN PT days, but chose to resign from both positions to spend more time with my family, and now assist my husband with his Private Practice for treating Psychiatric patients.
I learned to ride and drive from my best friend's mom at age 6. They owned 3 Shetland ponies, and 3 Morgans. Every weekend, I went to her house and we mucked stalls, groomed the horses, fed and watered them, and worked on specific skills such as lunging, jumping and Dressage. When my friend bred her Morgan mare, I was present at the birth when we were both 11. I helped my friend through all the stages of breaking her high spirited colt. I bought my own Morgan gelding at age 14, but sold him at age 17 just prior to graduating from HS and moving to FL. I took a job as Stable Manager at a private estate in Hamilton, MA where I was responsible for all daily activities of feeding, grooming and exercising the horses, including an Arab stallion. I trained other employees on how to muck stalls and groom. I helped save the life of one of the Boarder's horses who I found colicking in his stall, forcing him to his feet and walking him non-stop until the vet arrived. I remain calm in all crises.
Prior to returning to college to obtain my BSN, I worked in a full time school and residential program as a Supervisor for children and adolescents with Pervasive Developmental Disabilities, and those who were on the lower end of the Autistic Spectrum, and who were non-verbal. I've always had a love of teaching, and have an innate ability to gain the trust of any animal or individual. I am kind, patient, a natural extrovert and have an incredibly high work ethic. I also do carpentry as a hobby.
Mostly Dressage and trail riding. However, I also have some experience riding Western on my grandfather's cattle ranch in FL. I learned to drive at the age of 6, the same age as I learned to ride, although it was a pony cart meant for the Shetland pony we hitched to it. My best friend and I later trained her 14 hand Morgan mare to drive a full sized cart.
I have no personal experience with showing or competing with my horse, as I lived in a remote area of NH, and preferred to spend my time trail riding our 44 acres, as well as perfecting my Morgan's Dressage skills for fun. However, I frequently attended mixed events held at the Green Mountain Horse Association in Woodstock, VT as a spectator and have a good grasp of the art of showmanship. I also helped ready Boarder's horses for competitions when I was working as a Stable Manager.
