Duties of Current Occupation
I teach adult students (beginner to advanced) one morning a week at Canton Equestrian Center in Canton, MA and run an airbnb (5 years) renting out the downstairs of my home.
Equine Work Experience
Lesson Program Manager, Verrill Farm Stable, Concord, MA. 2006-2010 Expanded lesson program, added leasing options, pony camps and special events/horse shows. Focus on customer service, problem solving and satisfaction management with boarders, students, parents and vendors. Provided horse care (routine and medical). Supervised staff. Licensed horseback riding instructor – taught daily. Continued to compete in three-day eventing (a total of 20 years in competitive riding) up to prelim level and hunt with Norfolk and Old North Bridge Hounds.
Specialities
Owner, New England Horse Transport, Concord, MA. 2008-2014 Operated horse trucking business. Loaded, handled, managed and transported horses throughout New England. Coached private students at events and shows. Worked closely with area equine vets on medical transports; was preferred 24-hour emergency operator for many. (Trucked for Harmony several times)
(I weigh 161 pounds but the field only goes up to 131).
Type of Ride Work
I owned a total of 8 horses - some made (when I was starting out), some green I brought along myself. They all moved up and were sold for more than I paid for them. I am not looking to get paid to school horses. Both hips and one knee replaced - happy to stay on the ground!
Competition Details
Competed in 3-day eventing/horse trials through prelim level. Helped organize and run shows at Verrill Farm Stable and off site for IEA/Concord Equestrian Team. Helped staff New England Hunter Trials (also competed).
