I started riding at the age of 5 and rode competitively through college. Since this time, I acquired my Massachusetts Riding Instructor License and have apprenticed for a few months at a local barn teaching basic introductory horsemanship and riding to children. I have also been doing basic barn chores since the age of 10, and am comfortable handling mucking out of stalls, feeding, watering, turning out, tack cleaning and grooming or horses.
I worked at the Kentucky Horsepark as a Kids Barn Employee. In this role, I was responsible for educating visitors and children about the Kentucky Horsepark, the history of equestrian activities and running the "Groom and Shine" demonstrations to the public. I also assisted with the Education Barn lesson horses and also associated horsecare activities.
I've worked leading teams of lesson students through basic barn chores. I am comfortable working around the barn and taking care of the basic barn duties (mucking stalls, feeding, watering, turning out, cleaning tack and basic grooming).
Type of Ride Work
I am comfortable flatting and jumping low fence courses or just doing basic exercise riding.
