Equine Work Experience

I worked at David Davis’s barn for about 3 months when I first graduated university. I helped some with stalls/care as needed, but my primary job was as an assistant trainer wherein I learned liberty training (I will do whatever you ask me to but I don’t blindly subscribe to Liberty). Also, grew up (and worked) at Universal Morgans— we had 62 horses going at one point and I did anything I could to help those horses succeed and my parents sell them. Training, lessons, the works. I left only because I got a full time job working in SF tech industries.

Specialities

Barefoot trimming, jumping, green horses, contesting, reining, performance, lessons, care/first aid, teaching, mucking, breeding, foals, and most importantly—being a learner myself

Type of Ride Work

I have experience starting, green, young, and handling foals. As I grew up on a breeding farm, so I have had experiences with stallions and that whole process. Uncertain how to define problem here, but I’m sure I have worked horses that would be considered to be problematic by some metrics.

Flatwork, hunters, carriage, gymkhana, reining, jumpers, even tooled around with roping & cows.

Competition Details

No organization experience: would love to learn.

Universal Morgans would not be considered a competition yard— there was a two year period where they got the funding to send me on a national reining show circuit though! I took care of the horses during competition.
