No official certifications but I did take equine knowledge classes at the equine center I was working at called Cloverleaf Equine Center, formally known as the Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Center.

University of Maryland, Baltimore County Clinical Psychology Doctoral

I was a barn leader at a therapeutic equine center for two years where I was responsible for horse turnouts, feeding, and cleaning. My shift responsibilities include daily care and feeding of 20+ horses, mucking out stables and dry lots to maintain the facility, sweeping the tack sheds, mixing/soaking feed, watering horses, turning out the horses, grooming and tacking up and un-tacking ponies, before and after lessons. I also assisted with the general maintenance of the indoor and outdoor arenas.

I have only worked with mares and geldings. I assisted the lesson leaders in leading daily AM and PM volunteer groups, equine-assisted physical therapy, and riding and horsemanship sessions.

I have beginner experience riding horses and ponies doing flatwork.

I have not competed before, however, I was involved in setting up competitions and other special events such as polo classics, horse shows, fundraisers, and meet and greets.
