I’m 19 and looking for a working student position to further my riding skills. I have just started cantering, and I aspire to be a trainer. I am motivated to make a career in the equine industry!
B.S. In Equine Industry and Management (UNH 2020). 2 years as a working student growing my skills and training/riding abilities. 1 year facilitating my own program to really form my own philosophy and training methods.
B.S. in Equine Industry and Management from UNH (2020). Working student, Michelle LaBarre Dressage LLC: Care of 16 horses (feeding and nutrition plan management, turn out, first aid administration and I.M. medications, and night checks. In depth bodywork checks on all training horses via myofascial release and massage). Training/riding (rode up to 4 horses daily, daily lessons with Michelle. Started young horses. Rode up to fourth level dressage with some experience in FEI movements). Staff management (managed daily schedule and task delegation with other staff members, communicated with trainer about daily happenings and horse care plans). Lesson instructor/trainer, Buffalo Run Farm: Care of 37+ horses (feed, turn out, blanketing, first aid, stall cleaning). Lessons/training (taught up to five lessons daily, beginners through second level dressage. Training rides on lesson/sales horses). Freelance trainer/instructor: traveled throughout PA to provide lessons and training rides.
Training and teaching are my main specialties and passions. I spent two years as a working student post graduation working to develop my training philosophy and riding/training aptitude. After that I've spent the last year as an instructor/trainer to grow my confidence in my own program and abilities, while continuing my education as often as possible with my former trainer Michelle LaBarre to keep my skills sharp.
Dressage specialist. Up to fourth level dressage skills with some FEI schooling. Experience starting young horses under saddle and working through a variety of vices both under saddle and through ground work and lunging.
I sadly haven't had the opportunity for much showing, which is something I hope to gain more experience with in my next position. I was able to do some showing with my IDA team in college, but haven't shown at rated shows.
