Duties of Current Occupation

Teach hunter/jumper lessons, handle all paperwork for shows (entry forms, expenses), pro rides on the more difficult horses, lesson scheduling and billing, veterinary work (IV/IM injections, wrapping, etc.), dietary needs of all horses, and much more.

Equine Work Experience

I have been around horses all my life (27 years) and grew up helping my mother with all things horses, including but not limited to training horses, medicating horses, hauling horses, foaling, etc. I have been around many different breeds of horses throughout my life; from the fancy warmbloods to an unbroke grade quarter horse- they are all just as important to me. I began to venture into the hunter/jumper world in 2013 and since then have shown competitively for years, retrained numerous OTTB’s and began introducing them to the h/j world, and the last 3.5 years I have been giving h/j lessons to both kids and adults.

Specialities

I am very time oriented, and I am good at sticking to a schedule. I am extremely patient with horses as I have grown up with horses and have always gotten hard to handle, or unbroke horses that I broke myself. I am as stern as I need to be in my teaching to keep both horses and riders safe at all times. I have ridden mares, gelding, and stallions as well as broke many younger and older horses. I was once retraining problem horses for other people full time. I am not afraid of hard work.

Type of Ride Work

I have started more horses than I can count, and currently have multiple people requesting rides on their problem horses. I am I stickler for flat work- if you don’t enjoy flat work, you’re doing something wrong! I have coursed up to 4’3 at home (on my self made warmblood that I bought because he couldn’t be broke) I do enjoy the hunter ring, but right now I have been focusing some time in the jumper ring with a few horses I have right now.

Competition Details

I have competed mostly in the jumpers, but learned the way of the hunters when I first began riding English. I have organized small in-barn schooling shows, and am confident I can handle something bigger.
