I am a freshman at the University of Kentucky looking for a part-time position that would be flexible around my class schedule.
Qualifications

My skills include, but are not restricted to barn chores, such as mucking, turnout, and feeding; riding, schooling, showing, and some lunging knowledge; people skills, both at the barn and from previous positions held at the Rockcastle County Attorneys Office (Secretary), coaching Little League Basketball teams, and helping out at horse camps; and working with young, off-track thoroughbreds, including personal NV19 OTTB.

I do lack in first-aid care, but I'm willing to learn.

Duties of Current Occupation

Currently, a freshman at the University of Kentucky pursuing a business degree. Although I am undecided in which area of business I want to major in, I'm leaning towards Marketing and Management.

Equine Work Experience

For the past three years, I have focused on the Hunter/Jumper disciplines. As of late, I have been exploring the Eventing area. Within my riding career, I have ridden a wide variety of breeds, such as gaited, Standardbreds, Thoroughbreds, and some Warmbloods. I have worked with both young and old horses, from four to twenty. In Nov 2019, I adopted my own OTTB which I've mostly trained myself, and have had outside help from weekly lessons with a trainer(s). My previous trainer trusted me to exercise her personal horses.

Type of Ride Work

My riding work consists of light exercise rides, basic training, schooling, and showing. I currently show 2 ft but have exceeded 2'3" in practice/lessons. I have mostly ridden OTTB's, each with different riding levels. However, I have not ridden an OTTB fresh from the track. All my mounts have had down time or, at least, some previous rides.

Competition Details

My competition level has strictly been at the local level in Kentucky, including membership in the Kentucky Hunter Jumper Association (KHJA). I have attended several schooling shows, such as those at Scheffelridge Farm and Ballyhigh Stables. I have shown monthly at Lakeside Arena, twice at the KHJA Fall Classic located at the Horse Park, once at T.I.P and Country Aire. At each competition, I manage and care for my own horses and help out with barn teammates.
