Equine Work Experience

Have been riding and around horses for about 8 years now. I worked off and on at Champagne Run as a working student throughout college (Bachelor Degree in Equine Science). Have experience working with different temperaments of horses on the ground. Also did some side jobs of doing sew-in braiding at competitions. I am currently working on getting better at tail braiding and clipping. I have experience giving vaccines and basic first aid (wrapping legs, hooves, small laceration care.). I have experience cooling out horses and providing care to legs after jumping such as icing, poulticing and wrapping.

Specialities

Sew-in braids, long-lining horses, learning how to do tail braids/clipping, trailering, administrative roles (keeping things organized, recording new horses with USEF, submitting transfers/leases, staying up to date with SafeSport and comps)

Type of Ride Work

I have competed up to the Beginner Novice Level in Eventing. I have schooled up to 3'3" and have schooled Second Level movements, working on third level movements. I have ridden the lazy horses as well as forward horses but not dangerous when I was doing exercise rides at CR. Have experience and can confidently catch ride horses of different levels for flat work and lower-level jumping.

Competition Details

I have worked at a lesson/lower level show barn and groomed for the trainer there at competition but do not have experience grooming for upper level riders.
