I have about three years experience with horses and I have a natural ability/instinct to work with horses.
Duties of Current Occupation
In charge of oversee of horses as program occurs to watch for possible problems, prepare horses for programs and assist with riders as needed. Monitored and advised on care of around 20 horses.
Equine Work Experience
At Dream Riders of Kentucky, there were about 20 horses that I helped feed, water, and medicate. They are loaned or donated for use in the programs, so they come and go throughout the season. Dream Riders has riding lessons for people of all ages with disabilities April through November. I interacted with parents of riders as well, always in a professional manner and seek to provide their needs and make sure they were satisfied with their student's lessons. I also assisted with the training and supervision of volunteers at the facility. I volunteered there in 2017, left in 2018 to go volunteer at the Barn Manager's personal barn with her horses. It was hard doing that for two years without pay, so I went back to Dream Riders in 2019 as Assistant Instructor. I love training, grooming and exercising the horses most. I have also assisted with treating horses with minor medical conditions and it was my job to maintain barn, tack and acreage.
I have grown up in the country and was home schooled. I don't smoke, drink alcoholic beverages, or use drugs of any sort. I have a sharp mind and can make decisions quickly if needed in emergency situations. I love all animals and have volunteered at a local county animal shelter assisting with the care of cats and dogs. I am 22 and very capable of taking care of horses, as well as managing a barn. I worked part time at Dream Riders of Kentucky from April 2019 until mid November 2019.
Type of Ride Work
I mainly have experience with Western riding, and some English. I also have some experience with bareback riding.
I honestly do not have any experience with competition, but am eager to learn.
