- I believe I could be a multifaceted asset to a riding academy. I am strong and love physical labor. I am also an experienced leathercrafter and business owner. I am exceptional at marketing, promotion, networking, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
BS degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. No formal equine schooling but I am a fast learner. I’m currently taking somatic therapy psychology courses and would love to add equine therapy after that is completed.
Duties of Current Occupation
Assisted doctoring cattle / heeler; grooming, feeding, stable/stall upkeep. Volunteered at a ranch near Manhattan, KS in 2021 for several years.
Equine Work Experience
Grew up on a small farm with horses, no livestock. After my divorce, I felt called to re-establish those deep roots and I purchased an amazing quarter horse. My ranch hand friend taught me how to ride, how to rope, doctor cattle, and team rope. I volunteered at a ranch near Manhattan, KS and completely fell in love with the lifestyle. My horse and that experience completely brought me back to life again. I’m currently taking psychology classes and hope to have equine therapy certification piggybacked onto that. I want to share with others what the love and trust and companionship of horses can truly do.
Specialities
I am experienced in working with children as well as disabled. Being a strength coach / personal trainer, I am very comfortable instructing others while empowering them at the same time.
Type of Ride Work
Trail rides; arena roping; pasture roping/doctoring cattle
Competition Details
No, but once again I am a fast learner and I pay attention to detail. I owned a leather craft business and am experienced with trade shows, rodeos, and high-pressure scenarios. I would love the experience and knowledge of equine competition groom.
