- Horses have always been a passion of mine and recently started volunteering at a nonprofit retired Thoroughbred farm in Iowa and have now realized it's time to make this a career while I can.
Qualifications
Im researching Large Animal Veterinary Technician and will be learning how to trim and care for hooves. I can give you references from the staff at the nonprofit horse farm I'm volunteering at now however Cedar Valley Stables is now a private residential farm.

My specialty is customer service which I have 30 years experience. I received the All Star award while working at Nordstrom Direct. I recently started volunteering at a nonprofit retired race horse farm near me in Iowa and it's a great fit.

I spent most of my summers working weekends at Cedar Valley Stables in Tipton Iowa. I had planned to enroll for Large Animal Veterinary Technician/ Horse Husbandry, ended up taking accounting which I didn't pursue. I recently started volunteering at a farm for retired race horses and now pursuing a career I love.
Type of Ride Work
Quarter horses and trail riding is the majority of my experience. I'm now working as a volunteer with retired Thoroughbred's and now finally realized what I've been missing. I'm living in Iowa now, willing to relocate and/or seasonal work.
