I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I am currently a working student at the barn I ride at. My main duties are mucking stalls and paddocks, taking care of lessons horses and making sure they are put in there proper paddocks after lessons, cleaning and mainting tack, grooming horses for lessons, and trimming manes and tails. I also will do various other chores and will do whatever is asked of me. I love working and I do not quit until the job is done.
Manage a team of 60 to 75 people with a emphasis on health and safety. While mainting production goals. Complete daily audits, and employee timecards.
I have been riding since the age of 10, I was apart of the United States pony club for 6 years. I ended my time with USPC as a C1 in horses management and a D3 riding. Pony Club gave me also of opportunities to show and I also went to Championships twice. The first time I went to championships was for Quiz which is a horse knowledge based competition. The second Championships I was a stable hand/groom for my team. I also had a lot of show experience with hunter shows locally and show jumping competitions in Michigan. Horses are a huge part of my life and I just want to share my passions for horse care with everyone I encounter.
One of my specialties is grooming I absolutely love seeing the end result. I would say my drive to please others is one of my greatest qualities it just fills my heart with joy to do a good job. I am also open to learning new things, and growing my experience level as much as I can.
As for riding I enjoy eventing I love the thrill and partnership it takes to jump out cross country but also have the suppleness and brain for dressage. This being said I am honestly just my happiest on the back of a horse and just being around my equine friends in general this is why I am wanting to leave my current job to go forth and live out my dreams as a full time horse care taker.
