Eager rider and former horse owner looking for work in the Southeast Florida area/ West Palm. I have been around horses my entire childhood and am looking to gain experience in the equine industry now that I am older. I am a quick learner, easily able to adapt, and have a natural passion for horses.

Horses health is my main priority. I am looking for long time solution. Can lounge and i would be interested to get to ride some flatwork/hacking (not necessary, just wanting i could further my skills) I would need a live in-position and would be greatful if i can take my two wellbaved cats with me :)
I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
Daily care. In the "Key Skills" area, I've marked some things I feel fully confident about. Aside from those, I can ride and clip with some success. I'm out of practice in pulling and braiding, but I have done both. IV, IM, prep for surgery, though not scrubbing in myself.
The thumbnail photo is of a rescued Arabian mare, of whom I took charge in about 2011. I don't know the nature of the abuse she was rescued from, but the photo says quite a bit.
Riding, grooming, cleaning, maintenance, groundskeeping. Training in-hand. Massage, bodywork and energy work. Also, moron. Ask my mare, she is the smart one.
Foaling and raising Thoroughbreds in the Blue Grass, upper-level Dressage groom, working on H/J farms. Barn manager for a small equine hospital, including dressing, bandaging, IM/IV, dealing with abscesses, assisting with X-rays, ultrasounds. I can pull a shoe without tearing the hoof apart. Anything you need me to know, I can learn. One time on a jumper. I didn't know. I didn't know. She put me on - I was expecting Spot the Wonder Pony. Wrong. She put me on Speedy (Speedrail.) Had I known then what I know now, I would have peed myself. Now, to make things worse, as if I wasn't boy enough, my mare likes to jump. I don't jump. Scared. She took me over a rail, six inches, twelve inches, eighteen inches.. Me: "Am I alive?" Mare: "Yes, stupid. Are you a moron or what?" Me: "I will take moron. Took on a rattler bare-handed, I guess that makes me a moron." Mare:"You certainly are stupid." Girls are smarter, mares super-smart. And now I find out mine jumps too.
Dressage grooming and riding. Therapeutic massage, bodywork and energy work. Certification in Equine Management from the Kentucky Equine Institute at the Kentucky Horse Park, 1993.
Started Dressage lessons in November 2017, ended in March 2018. Great instructor.
One jumping lesson, with Cathy Wieschoff. I was expecting Pokey, the children's horse. Nope. She put me on Speedy, the FEI horse. He was very kind, my neck has all the same pieces. I'm rather proud of that ride, and hope to do it again.
I have not competed yet. Once I get my Unicorn back into training, that will change.
