Our family has horses and growing up I cared for and rode them. In elementary school, I practiced Hunter Jumper, then in middle and high school I switched over to Eventing when I joined my regions Pony Club. In Pony Club, we were introduced to different disciplines of riding such as Western, polo, and drill team, as well as horse management. There were trails in our neighborhood and I often rode those too, tacked or bareback. Early on I began looking after barns when friends or neighbors were away. For +5 years, I had a job at a local barn where I looked after about 25 horses on weekends. Once or twice my employer went away for the winter season and I looked after a few of her horses for about two months. In college/university, I joined my schools riding team and showed in IHSA. From 2019-2023 in the summer I have taught beginner riding lessons both in an arena and on trails. This past year I taught riding and lead trail rides in New Zealand on Icelandic and Kaimanawa horses.
