Qualifications

In the midst of a qualification for equestrian first-aid.

Duties of Current Occupation

Recently graduated. Various certifications and private training/lectures for activities ranging from blacksmithing to sculpture, as well as private study for the Norwegian and Swedish languages as I plan ahead for future endeavors.

Equine Work Experience

My equine experience is mainly centered in a professional/club setting, focused on English riding. Whether it was 10yr me on a galloping, breakaway mare or 22yr me training with teammates and planning activities in and out of a barn, I can confidently say that sport training, attention to safety, and social riding have been part of my life for 13 years. Having been through college, however, I have a strong respect and newly appreciated understanding for what experience and expertise looks like and can bring to the table. Thus, four years, several clubs, and a degree later, I can't call myself an 'expert' in anything equestrian. Partly because much of that time was in books and papers, but also for a lack of certifications and advanced knowledge that even a Mongol would be hard-pressed to fill out by 30. I'm eager to learn and gain lifelong skills, picking up whatever I can along the way.

Specialities

My specialties include work with mares, stallions, and geldings, along with a lifelong love for sports and club activities. In college I was a riding member of the Gustavus Adolphus College Equestrian Club, and in terms of literally leading a team, I was a captain on the GAC rugby team, while being engaged in numerous smaller clubs and campus initiatives. Club specialties/activities included grooming, mucking, event planning, member coordination, and fundraising, to name a few. I'm also tidy.
