Equine Work Experience

I've been riding for over 8 years. I retrained a mutt pony that bucked everyone else off to competing BN eventing and winning. I've worked with OTTBs, a couple of Irish imports, and other sport horses for my old trainer and some of her clients. I have experience with wound management/first-aid and rehabbing horses from injuries. In 2016, I leased an ISH with trust/stress/mental issues for 10 months and retrained him from the ground up to happily competing Novice. We qualified for 2017 AECs but his owner wanted to take him because he was doing so well. I purchased a 2-year-old Oldenburg eventing prospect in 2017. I had the chance to ride his sire, a Grand Prix dressage horse, and took lessons on him. I've done most of my horse's training myself with help from trainers from the ground and we're hoping to compete in the 2021 season.

The horse is my teammate their trust and happiness are very important to me. I enjoy thinking outside the box and doing creative exercises to keep things interesting and fun. I trained my old pony to ride bridleless in unenclosed outdoor spaces, and that level of trust and connection, regardless of how it is shown, is really special.
