Qualifications
I have not completed any equine related courses or certifications nor college qualifications in that area. I do have a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Masters of Arts in Teaching (k-12).I have a love for learning, I work hard, and am willing & wanting to become more "professional" and trained in the equine fields. I am an open book to take in and learn from those willing and capable to train me.
Documents
Duties of Current Occupation
Horse care, Stall care, Organization of activities, scheduling of lessons, coordinate with & report to parents
Equine Work Experience
Yes, somewhat professional. Just my own property for last 15 years, caring for the equine space, house, and acreage around it. I have had to call parents, coordinate schedules, find opportunities, etc.
Specialities
I love working with people and have served in leadership positions in college and in my church. I love animals, especially horses, and work to speak their language so that I can be a good leader for them. I seek for and nurture "connection". I am creative and have lots of ideas - I am good at breaking things down into simpler steps to teach others.
Type of Ride Work
Ridden mostly Morgan, Arabian, QH, some Thoroughbred, POA, Paint, and few others - Most of them coming from troubled backgrounds - many from rescue situations needing a lot of "recovery" using consistency, love, accuracy, and connection. I discovered Buck Brannaman's clinics about 10 years ago and have enjoyed learning his style of horsemanship and training. I assisted a trainer for a few years (boarded on my property) as he started new colts, mules, and a Mustang.
Competition Details
I was a competitive gymnast & a national championship cheerleader growing up. I did not have the opportunity to ride or be around horses, but was always drawn to them. My grandmother raised 30-40 Arab, Quarab, and QH on a regular basis and I visited/helped in the summers in my childhood. I finally acquired my own 5 acres and horses in 2009 and have never looked back - I cannot imagine life again without them.
