Qualifications

I have not completed any equine degrees in college, nor any instructor training certifications.

Duties of Current Occupation

I am the current Beginner Program lesson instructor for a highly competitive show barn in Augusta, GA: Hidden Forrest Equestrian Center. I teach students in individually-curated lesson plans based on needs, goals, prior experience, and attitude.

Equine Work Experience

I have been riding practically since I could walk, and have experience with Western (though it has been many years since I’ve done that discipline), eventing, dressage, and most recently, hunters. I have schooled up to 3’9 in the jumpers, and prelim level eventing. As I get older, I find that the nuance of dressage is much more my speed, though I am not opposed to jumping up to 3’ if the need calls for it. I have experience handling stallions from as young as a few minutes old, all the way up to the Grand Prix level.

Specialities

I specialize in grooming horses for schooling and shows. I can polo, standing, sweat wrap, and bandage legs, feet, and faces for wound care, and more. I have worked with FEI dressage and event riders, as well as National-level hunter riders in Aiken, SC and at WEC Ocala. I can do running braids, button braids, tail braids, and am starting to learn how to do hunter braids. I can also braid in a fake tail. I am comfortable with all aspects of horse care, but am most passionate about grooming.

Type of Ride Work

I have ridden hot horses, green horses, slow horses, out of shape horses, and will ride just about anything on the flat. Though I am not nearly as confident in my skills over fences as I am on the flat, I am game to learn and try anything.

Competition Details

I have groomed for all levels of shows from the local, schooling level, to the FEI level for dressage, eventers, and hunters.
